A Review on the Blogging Experience

Hello lovelies,

This serves as my final post for my summer class. I think this blogging experience has been a fun and productive on. I have learned a lot of tools to help me with future blogs or in continuing this one if I so choose.

As far as social media, I feel twitter and my blog have been the most useful ones. I feel I know how to operate these social medias best and are the ones that help me produce the best content.

The social media I never quite got a hold of was LinkedIn. I never really experimented with it, but I would like to get to know it better and the future and utilize it for my professional career.

For the future of my social media, I hope to keep up with my twitter and even start regularly maintaining a blog. They give me a fun way to produce professional content I am interested in.

First Impressions: Make Up For Ever Ultra HD

Hello lovelies,

Here is a video about my first impression of Make Up For Ever’s Ultra HD foundation. I got mine in Y235 and tried it for the first time today. I bought it for my engagement pictures next week, since I didn’t have a good photography foundation. Overall I am really impressed so far. I hope you enjoy the video!

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation

Hi Lovelies,

I don’t know if you have heard, but I am having my wedding next June. Everyone knows the most important and longest lasting aspect of a wedding is pictures, so I set out to find a flawless photo ready foundation. I decided to try the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD foundation because every article I read so that was the best foundation for perfect picture. So there I went to Sephora to see what all the hype was about. I plan on trying it out myself tomorrow, but for now I wanted to see what the beauty people of the Twitterverse had to say about it.

I’m glad she agrees that this foundation is camera ready!

This is also something I hear often. I’m glad people are liking the reformulation.

Girl, I feel your pain. At $43 dollars a pop, this is no drugstore foundation, but anything for great pictures!

Me either! I’m so excited to do my makeup tomorrow! I will keep you all updated on how it turns out.

  • Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette
  • Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil-Stag
  • Loreal Miss Manga Mascara

I hope you enjoy the look and decide to try it yourself!

Wouldn’t it Be Nice if We Had an App For That?

Hello lovelies,

Does anyone ever get done with a killer eye look, and then have the struggle of figuring out what blush and lip color to pair with it? I know I do. Wouldn’t it be nice to have an app right on your phone to make that struggle a whole lot less real? This is the idea I propose.

IMG_5398Concept search This app would allow you to go through and check off all of the eye shadow, blushes, and lippies you were considering wearing and then put together all kinds of looks for you in an instant. That way you can take the products you have and easily combine them to either create a light summery look that isn’t too bland or a dark smokey eye that isn’t to overpowering. It’s as easy as looking in your collection and checking off what you have, then choosing a look. It’s like having your own makeup artist in your pocket!

I would love to hear your ideas about this! Let me know what you think and if you believe this could be helpful in your makeup life.

My Story

Hello again lovelies,

I just wanted to give you a chance to get to know me a little. My name is Macy and I am a lover of all things pretty, especially makeup. I became interested in makeup during my second year of college. I had always been a kind of plain jane type of girl, but had hoped for a long time to learn how to apply makeup, outside of my usual black eyeliner and mascara. I don’t know exactly what gave me the initiative to scour the internet for makeup tutorials, maybe it was my friends who are winged liner goddesses or the need for a hobby, but on a sleepless August night I went looking for help. The first makeup tutorial I found was a drugstore makeup tutorial by Lauren Curtis. It was much different from what I had been doing and frankly even comfortable with, but I was determined to feel as pretty as the beautiful Aussie girl looked.

Before and AfterThe next day, I went without black eyeliner. I put on foundation, neutral eye-shadows, and just mascara. I had never felt so pretty in my whole life, not because I was wearing makeup really, but because I didn’t feel plain jane anymore. I felt like a pretty girl, as cheesy as that sounds.

Makeup has given me self-confidence. Makeup has given me a hobby. It’s that extra little thing that puts the pep in my step. I don’t do it for any reason other than the fact it makes me happy. I don’t blend my eyeshadow into oblivion to impress anyone other than myself. My spinning arrow spun my towards makeup, and I’m so glad it did.
